Kernel/Hypervisor Engineer, EC2 Core Compute

Requirements

• Professional experience working on the Linux Kernel
• Professional experience in C programming
• Proficient in at least one CPU architecture such as x86 or ARM
• Understanding of operating system internals

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience working on the Linux Kernel
• Extensive professional experience in C programming
• Professional experience working on a hypervisor, such as kvm, xen, or hyper-v
• Solid understanding of performance-critical areas of the Linux Kernel

What You'll Be Doing

• Take end to end ownership of the software development life cycle
• Drive operational excellence, improving the quality of the hypervisor and our instance platforms
• Influence and contribute to the technological roadmap of your team
• Work with other EC2 teams like hardware, software, and firmware groups across the globe
• Openness to leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and technical problem-solving
