• Bloomberg’s products and services depend on the safe, reliable movement of network traffic across different environments.
• This is an end-to-end ownership role for managing proxy and observability infrastructure.
• Opportunity to establish a new engineering presence in Dublin for platform development.

Technologies We Use

• Python
• Go
• KVM-based virtualization on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Observability platforms such as Humio, Splunk, and Grafana
• Vendor and open-source proxy and observability technologies

We'll trust you to

• Design and build software systems managing proxy and observability infrastructure.
• Build deployment, configuration, validation, and observability platforms.
• Improve telemetry, alerting, and health checks.
• Operate the production infrastructure including participating in an on-call rotation.
• Review code and help shape the architecture and operating model.

You’ll need to have

• Strong software engineering experience in a functional or object-oriented programming language.
• Experience building, testing, debugging, and operating production software or infrastructure platforms.
• Ability to reason through ambiguous technical problems and make sound design decisions.
• Strong communication skills and high standards for code quality.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
