Senior Software Engineer - Search Algorithms - Elasticsearch

Requirements

• Professional experience with search or vector databases, and used relevant algorithms and libraries at scale
• Solid skills in core Java and familiarity with data structures, concurrency constructs, and lambdas
• High level of autonomy and ability to guide projects from beginning to end
• Experience collaborating on code, approaches, and APIs
• Experience with various data storage technologies
• Track record of using AI to accelerate development and optimize code
• Ability to collaborate across functions and transition between projects based on priorities

Nice to Haves

• Previous experience building with Elasticsearch
• Worked with open source projects and familiar with source control and continuous integration workflows
• Experience with data storage technology
• Designed, led, and owned cross-functional initiatives

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead initiatives within Elasticsearch to produce an industry-leading search engine
• Contribute to Elasticsearch full time, building new search features and fixing bugs
• Work with a globally distributed team to enhance Elasticsearch's search capabilities
• Be an expert on Elasticsearch search relevance and drive improvements
• Collaborate with community members worldwide on issues and pull requests
• Write idiomatic Java for Elasticsearch
