Data Engineer, Traveler Data Engineering

Requirements

• Build end-to-end data solutions independently: Deliver reliable, high-quality datasets/pipelines for traveler-facing decision-making.
• Be a trusted thought partner: Translate business needs into outcomes and drive adoption of self-serve data capabilities.
• Deliver high technical craft: Apply best practices in code quality, data modeling, testing, and monitoring/alerting.
• Improve what’s already in production: Refactor existing pipelines/models, fix data quality issues, and make performance improvements.
• Contribute to team outcomes: Participate in planning/roadmap, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Strong operational mindset: Maintain balance between operational responsibilities and building new solutions.
• Experience: 3+ years in a relevant data role with hands-on experience across data engineering technologies.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Data engineering depth: Expertise in SQL, Python, and data modeling with a focus on data quality.
• Reporting & insights: Understanding of data visualization tools like Looker/Tableau.
• Business and stakeholder focus: Able to prioritize effectively and manage stakeholders.
• Autonomy & ownership: Proactive, customer-oriented, and comfortable owning projects end-to-end.
• Team impact: Collaborative and enjoys sharing knowledge and helping the team succeed.
• AI-first mindset: Uses modern AI tools to accelerate solving business needs.
