Staff Software Engineer, Global Network Technology

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development in either (C, C++, Python, Java, or Go).
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Nice to Haves

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience leading the design, architecture, and execution of complex, large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience in mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar for the team.
• Experience in network engineering, automation, or building large-scale operational tooling with the ability to drive technical strategy and influence roadmaps in a product-centric environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to audiences and influence cross-functional partners.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for complex, large-scale systems, establishing best practices and engineering standards that enable the team to deliver with higher quality and velocity.
• Drive ambiguous, multi-quarter projects from ideation to launch, defining the technical roadmap, setting priorities, and influencing stakeholders to achieve long-term strategic goals.
• Act as a key technical leader and strategic partner for cross-functional teams.
• Elevate the team's operational excellence by mentoring engineers, resolving the most critical and complex production issues, and driving systemic improvements to reduce operational load and enhance service reliability.
• Influence their roadmaps and translate broad business ambiguity into scalable, innovative technical solutions.
