Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety, SafeSearch

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in data analysis (e.g., identifying trends, generating statistics, and drawing insights from data).
• Experience with data analysis and querying using SQL.
• Experience with using Python for data manipulation and analysis.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in prompt engineering and applying large language models for data labeling.
• Experience working on product analysis and identifying user harm risks.
• Experience with fraud/abuse investigations, fraud risk management, security and threat analysis in the context of internet, telephony, or communication-related products.
• Track record of designing sampling approaches and using statistical analysis for making product recommendations.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop domain knowledge in Search infrastructure, ranking signals, and products.
• Develop prompt-based AI raters that can evaluate content safety in Google products.
• Investigate and analyze complex patterns of badness and abuse on Google Search, utilizing data-driven insights to develop countermeasures and enhance platform security.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that may indicate abuse or quality issues within Google Search.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Policy, and Legal, to develop and implement solutions that enhance search quality and user trust.
