Research Scientist, Frontier AI, Google DeepMind

Requirements:

• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience leading a research agenda.
• Experience in deep learning and with Python and neural network training.
• Experience training, evaluating, and interpreting large multimodal models and large language models.
• A publication record in machine learning conferences and healthcare journals.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in research leadership across organizations.
• Experience leading a diverse set of research scientists, research engineers, and software engineers.

What you'll be doing:

• Define and lead ambitious research projects, setting the technical direction and ensuring successful execution of the research agenda.
• Design and implement innovative model architectures that integrate diverse datasets.
• Develop benchmarks for evaluating multimodal models across various tasks and domains.
• Contribute to the overall research strategy, identifying new research directions and influencing the broader research community.
