Senior Software Engineer, Chrome Web Store Platform

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture
• Experience with browser development or web standards

Nice to Haves

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, or Typescript

What You'll be Doing

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software for the Chrome Web Store platform and storefront
• Lead the technical design and implementation of major features and architectural improvements
• Scope and break down complex technical problems, analyzing alternatives and recommending solutions that balance short-term needs with long-term platform health
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact features
• Identify and remediate recurring problems, simplifying and standardizing existing solutions
