Software Engineer II, Cloud AI

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience with implementing core Machine Learning (ML) concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI, machine learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), or AI agents.
• Experience in building applications for enterprise needs, which includes AI safety, data residency, integration with existing systems.
• Experience in developing and deploying applications on cloud infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).
• Understanding of Cloud customers needs, with the ability to bridge the gap between AI technology and real-world use cases outside of Google.

What You'll Be Doing

• Write product or system development code.
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices among available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Apply foundational Machine Learning (ML) concepts and contribute to the implementation of solutions in one or more specialized ML areas.
