Senior Data Center Engineer, Electrical Architecture

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
• Experience in electrical infrastructure.

Nice to Haves:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems and their control systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.
• Experience with medium voltage systems.
• Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and associated power management or SCADA tools.
• Experience with cross-discipline teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural).
• Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems), with an understanding of start up/commissioning processes.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Define the electrical system architecture from grid connection, through electrical distribution to rack level power requirements including system requirements for cooling and telecommunication assets.
• Model electrical systems, developing design drawings and documentation, providing detailed cable, earthing, protection and load flow calculation reports.
• Collaborate with operational, construction, commissioning, and planning teams to understand regional requirements for power and electrical and delivering detailed designs in a timely manner.
• Lead on research of latest electrical technologies and developing strategies for cut-in to meet future electrical engineering challenges of hyper-scale data centers.
• Keep up-to-date on the latest regional requirements for data centers across EMEA utilities and regional government requirements and developing designs to meet future requirements.
