Data Center Plant Engineer

Requirements:

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of Electrical or Mechanical experience (e.g., electrical testing equipment or electrical distribution or HVAC or Air handling Units) in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Experience working on projects in a data center environment, and working with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.
• Experience in Electrical or Mechanical maintenance and operations of a data center.

Nice to haves:

• 7 years of experience in maintenance of mechanical/cooling distribution systems or electrical distribution systems or construction/technical environments or a related field.
• 5 years of relevant professional experience in the field of electrical engineering as a Responsible Qualified Electrician (VEFK) in accordance with DIN VDE 1000-10.
• Knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems.

What you'll be doing:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems.
• Provide effective leadership for successful critical system troubleshooting, unit commissioning, repairs/replacements with little to no supervision in quality, quantity and timeliness as assigned.
• Operate critical plant equipment as authorized by facilities manager.
• Provide coordination/input for global facilities programs such as in electrical, CMMS, BMS, energy savings, training and thermography.
• Respond to critical data center events, alarms and be responsible for being a point of escalation on operational issues.
