Software Engineer III, Mobile (Android), Web and Tablets

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with android application development.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Kotlin, Android app, and web development.
• Experience in debugging Android apps including network traffic.
• Experience with web front-end development and Angular framework.
• Experience debugging web apps, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and style sheets.
• Familiarity with web standards, browsers, and front-end best practices.
• Familiarity with Java, back-end services.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop new features for Google Messages for Web (messages.google.com/web), which is the desktop companion web app for Google Messages.
• Integrate features with backend systems and interface with the Google Messages app on Android.
• Work with UX designers and product managers to refine requirements for the feature, as well as fellow Software Engineers to determine the right architecture.
