Senior Applied Scientist

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 4+ years of related experience; OR
• Master's Degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of experience; OR
• Doctorate (PhD) in a relevant field and 1+ year of experience; OR
• Equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Haves

• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying retrieval and ranking systems at production scale.
• Experience in areas such as semantic retrieval, dense retrieval systems, embedding model training, SPLADE, and more.
• Proficiency in Python and modern machine learning frameworks.
• Research contributions and publications in top-tier venues.

• Building state-of-the-art retrieval systems.
• Researching, designing, and evaluating retrieval and ranking technologies.
• Improving grounding quality, relevance, and personalization.
• Influencing technical strategy and shaping the future retrieval architecture for Copilot.
• Translating scientific advances into high-impact product capabilities.
