Senior Software Engineer - Observability

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in designing, building, debugging, and operating production services or distributed platforms at scale.
• Experience leading the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-based software solutions and influencing technical direction across projects or teams.
• Strong foundation in distributed systems, software design, data structures, algorithms, concurrency, reliability engineering, and modern backend engineering practices.
• Experience building reliable, highly available services with a focus on performance, observability, security, and operational excellence.
• Experience collaborating across engineering, product, and partner teams to deliver complex technical solutions.

Nice to Haves

• Strong hands-on backend engineering and coding skills in C#, C++, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI-assisted engineering practices responsibly.
• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems processing high-volume data, telemetry, or real-time analytics workloads.
• Experience designing, building, or operating services on Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience influencing technical direction across teams, mentoring engineers.
• Experience improving service reliability, performance, and operational excellence through automation and observability.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, build, and evolve large-scale backend services for telemetry ingestion, stream processing, storage integration, query serving, and observability workflows.
• Lead architectural decisions for complex distributed systems.
• Apply AI-native engineering practices.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous improvements.
• Partner with teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Act as Designated Responsible Individual for critical services.
• Mentor and support other engineers.

Perks and Benefits

• Base pay range: €77,400.00 - €130,000.00 per year in Ireland.
