Staff Software Engineer, Cloud Platform

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and operating large-scale production infrastructure
• Proven track record of leading multi-year infrastructure transformations at internet-scale companies
• Background in service mesh technologies and traffic management at scale
• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code, GitOps, and modern CI/CD practices
• Experience building developer platforms and tools to improve engineering productivity
• Proficiency in C++, Go, or Java, with the ability to contribute to infrastructure codebases
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Nice to Haves

• Expertise with multi-tenant cluster orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures

What You'll Be Doing

• Define and drive the multi-year technical strategy for Pinterest's Cloud Infrastructure platform
• Lead the design and implementation of complex, cross-team infrastructure initiatives
• Architect solutions for critical infrastructure challenges at Pinterest scale
• Provide technical leadership during critical incidents
• Mentor senior engineers and technical leads across multiple teams
