Senior Data Platform Engineer

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or related field
• Strong software engineering skills with Scala, Java, and Python experience
• Experience with distributed systems and data pipelines in production environments
• Knowledge of databases, SQL, data modeling, and warehouse/lakehouse best practices
• Experience working with large datasets and driving technical initiatives
• Strong communication skills and mentoring experience
• Ownership mindset and ability to propose solutions and move initiatives forward

Bonus points for

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads
• Experience with workflow orchestration, CI/CD, or cloud-native data platform tools
• Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, Flink, or Spark Structured Streaming
• Experience with observability tooling, monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling, or shared infrastructure
• Familiarity with technologies like ClickHouse, Trino, Iceberg, Airflow, or similar

What You'll Be Doing

• Drive end-to-end data engineering and platform initiatives
• Design, build, and operate reliable data pipelines
• Work with large-scale batch and streaming data processing systems
• Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and business stakeholders
• Improve the reliability, performance, and operational maturity of the data platform
• Contribute to the evolution of the data architecture and identify gaps in the current ecosystem
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and mentor other engineers
• Promote strong engineering practices and take ownership of cross-functional problems
