Engineering Lead - Wise AI Assistant Platform

Requirements:

• 2+ years leading engineering teams, ideally including senior engineers
• Strong, hands-on technical experience in OOP Languages (Java) and modern technology stacks on technologies such as REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines - you will have to complete technical interviews to showcase your knowledge
• Solid understanding of LLM engineering: RAG architectures, vector databases & embeddings, prompt/context engineering, orchestration patterns, tool use, evaluation methods and guardrails/safety approaches
• Passion for AI: you follow the space, and want to push boundaries on a production system at scale
• Excellent collaboration skills across functions and teams

Nice to Haves:

• Bonus: TypeScript, deeper AI fundamental (eg. transformer architectures, fine tuning, etc)

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead a small, senior engineering team building production LLM systems
• Shape the technical vision for AI at Wise: architecture, evaluation, and how we integrate the latest research into production
• Partner closely with embedded Data Science, PM, Analyst and Prompt Engineering functions
• Stay close to the latest tech (expect hands-on work on system design and architecture)
• Be a thought leader on AI engineering at Wise
