Requirements

• Experience leading an engineering team and supporting engineers' growth, wellbeing, and performance
• Good product judgement and a focus on solving customer problems
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience guiding the design of production systems
• AI-first approach to software development
• Comfort leading across backend, web, and mobile disciplines
• Ability to explain trade-offs and break down complex work
• Track record of collaborating across teams
• Clear communication skills
• High standards for reliable, secure, observable, and well-tested software
• Good judgement in decision-making

• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, relational databases, payments, invoicing, or reconciliation

What you'll be doing

• Lead and develop the engineers in the team through feedback and coaching
• Work with the Product Manager to prioritize and ship work
• Own the team's technical roadmap
• Lead improvements across invoice publishing, payment matching, reconciliation, and customer experience
• Guide decisions across different disciplines
• Break large problems into smaller steps with clear ownership
• Lead regulatory and market-driven work
