Database Reliability Engineer

Requirements:

• Relevant production experience in supporting environments running modern open-source database management systems
• Deep understanding of technical operations
• Experience in modern cloud-based, SaaS delivery technologies
• DevOps skills
• Programming skills in Python, Java, Go, and Ruby
• Understanding of high availability strategies and data modeling
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice to haves:

• Hands-on experience with containerization orchestration engines (Kubernetes)
• Experience in software development or Internet-related industries
• B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience

What you'll be doing:

• Ensure uptime and Quality of Service to customers
• Support and maintain globally distributed multi-cloud database environments
• Identify areas for service resiliency improvements
• Automate tasks at scale to reduce toil
• Tackle performance and stability issues
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Determine root cause of production incidents and write high-quality reports
