Senior AI Engineer – Notebooks

Requirements

• Experience with Go, Python or similar systems programming languages
• 6+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Hands-on experience delivering production AI-powered products and customer-facing experiences using LLM technologies
• Approach engineering through a strong product mindset, connecting technical decisions to customer outcomes and business impact
• Experience building reliable systems managing model non-determinism through evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, and operational excellence

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered product experiences for Notebooks and adjacent surfaces
• Develop systems combining deterministic product capabilities with LLM-powered experiences for trustworthy and explainable customer outcomes
• Partner closely with Product to translate customer problems, adoption signals, and roadmap goals into technical decisions and iterations
• Build experiences enabling Datadog capabilities to operate within third-party AI platforms, agents, and conversational environments
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and establish AI engineering best practices
• Own production systems, building and operating reliable backend services, and being on-call for those services
