Engineering Manager, Event Streaming Systems

Requirements

• Experience leading streaming infrastructure, platform, or distributed systems engineering teams
• Experience with Kafka or large-scale event streaming systems
• Strong technical depth in scalable production systems
• Experience building or operating event streaming or similar large-scale distributed platforms
• Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineers
• Demonstrated ability to drive execution across complex technical initiatives

Nice to haves

• Experience with technologies like Redpanda, Pulsar, WarpStream, or AutoMQ
• Experience operating Tier-0 infrastructure or globally distributed platforms
• Background in storage systems, data infrastructure, or open source distributed systems

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for Kafka, EventBus, and event streaming infrastructure
• Drive delivery of key streaming platform initiatives
• Partner with infrastructure and engineering leaders to define streaming strategy
• Improve scalability, observability, and automation of Tier-0 streaming systems
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers while fostering operational excellence
• Contribute to architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making
