Site Reliability Engineer, Intermediate to Senior Staff — Infrastructure Platforms

Requirements

• Experience keeping production systems reliable
• Experience building net-new infrastructure tooling and automation
• The ability to read, debug, and reason about code
• Experience with infrastructure as code and Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (GCP or AWS)
• Familiarity with observability practices
• Comfort participating in on-call and incident response
• Strong written communication skills
• Experience using automation to reduce toil
• Alignment with GitLab's values

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes operators, or production automation from scratch

What You'll Be Doing

• Keep user-facing services and production systems reliable, scalable, and efficient
• Build automation and tooling that reduces toil
• Operate and troubleshoot production systems on Kubernetes
• Write and maintain infrastructure as code
• Participate in on-call and incident response
• Contribute to the observability stack
