Data Center Facilities Technician I, Mechanical

Requirements:

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in electrical, mechanical/HVAC, or controls/automation in an industrial/commercial environment.
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs (23 kg) of equipment, the required use of safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses in accordance with safety and ergonomic guidelines and assessments.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and work rotations/shifts.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in data centers, hospitals, or power plants.
• Experience in maintaining mechanical systems, keeping safety systems reliable, or maintaining building infrastructure.
• Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems.
• Ability to analyze data and get to the root cause of problems, helping us prevent future issues.

What you'll be doing:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and mechanical system components.
• Provide daily assistance to technicians as you read blueprints/schematics/sequence of operations, conduct tours of systems, and assess their working order.
• Manage the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC and control and monitoring systems.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment.
• Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure.
