Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure Storage, Consensus, Google Cloud

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
• 5 years of experience with building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks
• Experience with working in computer science environments, with software designing
• Experience developing software applications using the C++ programming language
• Experience with object-oriented programming, templates, and the Standard Template Library (STL)

Nice to haves:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Experience with infrastructure systems, distributed storage, or system security
• Experience with data structure and algorithm
• Experience with developing accessible technologies

What you'll be doing:

• Write product or system development code. Develop, maintain, and simplify systems in C++
• Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
