Data Center Facilities Technician, Electrical

Requirements

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with Electrical Distribution Systems (HV (High Voltage), LV (Low Voltage), Protection and Controls, Power Quality).
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays on shift-based schedules as required.
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting and work on platforms, ladders, and under raised floors.

Nice to Have

• Experience planning and executing installation, commissioning, and equipment startup, following industry best practices and protocols.
• Experience working in the control room for critical operations.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data center environments and controls/monitoring systems.
• Excellent written, verbal communication, and people management skills, with the ability to prioritize work efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

• Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems.
• Provide daily assistance to technicians as you read blueprints/schematics/sequence of operations, conduct tours of systems, and assess their working order.
• Manage the uptime and maintenance of UPS, generators, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment.
• Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure.
