Staff Forward Deployed Engineer

Requirements

• Ideally, you’ve built an exciting SaaS product in previous roles
• Demonstrated track record of autonomous decision-making
• Interest in AI/ML and ability to ramp up on unfamiliar concepts quickly
• Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language
• Decisive and pragmatic approach to work
• Proficiency in using and writing REST APIs

What you'll be doing

• Lead the adoption of Fin by helping prospects unlock the power of Intercom’s AI capabilities
• Embed deeply with strategic customers to understand their business challenges
• Work hands-on with customers’ technical teams as a subject-matter expert
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Success, and Product teams
• Lead and evolve the Forward Deployed Engineering function
• Leverage connections across strategic accounts to anticipate challenges
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members

Nice to haves

• Former founder or early engineer at a startup
• 2+ years serving as the primary technical leader for a team
• Skilled at navigating organizational boundaries
• Ability to tailor communication for any audience
