Lead Platform Engineer - Infrastructure and Cloud Delivery (d/f/m)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in a platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps background.
• Experience with cloud & infra concepts - E.G. AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog.
• Experience with SaaS software development in distributed systems using programming languages such as Typescript, Java/Kotlin, Python.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions/GitOps tools).
• You have a high quality bar and lead by example regarding operational best practices.
• You are data-driven and are passionate about using metrics to define and evaluate your engineering design decisions.
• You strike a balance between a strategic and tactical mindset.
• You have excellent written and spoken English (level C1/C2 on the CEFR scale).
• Experience operating at scale in a high pace, rapid growth environment.
• You embrace feedback and have a good sense of humor.

Nice to Have

• You have experience with or passion to embrace new ways of working through the adoption of AI powered workflows using agents, skills & agentic feedback loops.
• Your platform experience doesn’t end with core infrastructure, but you are equally interested in adjacent concepts related to observability, database operations & networking.
• You have experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS).

What You’ll Do

• Define and manage the company's AWS account structure, organisation & permission boundaries.
• Define and manage central infrastructure as code solutions.
• Support the SDLC at Personio by defining, maintaining, and operating GitOps based continuous delivery pipelines.
• Operate and maintain EKS clusters across all environments.
• Document platform capabilities and run internal training sessions where necessary.
• Drive technical excellence with a design-led mindset.
• Take ownership of operational responsibilities for platform services within your domain.
