Sr Engineering Team Lead - Data - Platform

Requirements:

• You have a solid background in development, ideally within the Python or Java ecosystems.
• Expertise in leveraging cloud services from providers like AWS or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience creating a culture of operational excellence.
• Knowledge of and/or experience in leading a service reliability engineering team.

Nice to Have:

• Passionate about technology and its relationship with product and user experience.
• Experience with configuration management, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containers, and orchestration tools.
• Interest in payment platforms, foreign exchange & highly complex systems.
• Be a customer of Wise.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responsible for team well-being, coaching, mentoring, and high-performance team growth.
• Support the team with software engineering and systems operation.
• Collaborate with leads, engineers, and product managers in the wider organization.
• Lead engineering teams through project complexities using agile and traditional methodologies.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and present to the wider organization.
• Take ownership of vendor negotiations and explain costs to the business.
