Backend Engineer (Python/Go) - Consumer Platform team

Requirements

• Solid experience in backend development using Python, Go, or similar languages.
• A passion for core engineering problems like system design, optimization, and scalability.
• Experience working on high-traffic, production systems.
• (Bonus) Familiarity with reliability engineering or on-call practices.
• Strong ownership mindset and curiosity — someone who likes to understand how things work under the hood.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• A pragmatic, product-oriented mindset focused on solving real user problems.

What you'll be doing

• Build and maintain high-throughput critical backend services in Python and Go.
• Work across the complete development lifecycle—from architecture and design to deployment and monitoring.
• Drive cross-team reliability initiatives and improve the scalability of Wolt’s platform.
• Design and implement core services, shared libraries, internal tooling, and platform-level improvements that empower other teams and support our global consumer economy.
• Define reliability best practices that make Wolt’s systems more robust.

Nice to haves
