Junior Backend Engineer

Requirements

• A good foundation in software engineering and backend development.
• Experience with Go, Kotlin, or another modern programming language through professional work, internships, studies, or personal projects.
• An understanding of fundamental concepts such as APIs, databases, testing, and writing maintainable code.
• An interest in learning how production systems are built, deployed, monitored, and operated.
• A willingness to learn new technologies and work on problems that may initially be unfamiliar.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools as part of your everyday engineering workflow.

Nice to Have

• Experience or exposure to databases, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Snowflake, or other data and streaming technologies.
• Experience in forecasting, optimization, scheduling, or data-heavy applications.
• Background in grocery, retail, logistics, supply chain, or warehouse technology.

What You'll Be Doing

• Building and improving backend services that support inventory, purchasing, warehouse operations, pricing, and fulfillment.
• Writing reliable, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering practices.
• Collaborating with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and operations teams.
• Taking increasing ownership of features and services as you grow in the role.
• Using modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate learning and development.
