What you'll be doing

• Build and maintain backend services for agent-assist features on Astra with increasing independence.
• Translate requirements into working code including design, RFC writing, and end-to-end implementation.
• Integrate with LLM-backed features by managing prompt/completion calls and validating output quality.
• Break down projects into tasks, estimate accurately, and track progress and dependencies.
• Use AI tooling thoughtfully in workflow and critically evaluate its output.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards for correctness and quality.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and partner teams to clarify issues and manage risks or blockers.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals in Go with experience in production service shipping and maintenance.
• Ability to independently own feature-level work from requirements to tested and shipped code.
• Comfort working across multiple chat/support surfaces and ability to trace issues accurately.
• Clear technical writing skills and good judgment in seeking help or pushing forward.
• 2–4 years of backend engineering experience with demonstrated growth in ownership and scope.

• Exposure to LLM-powered features in production, including prompt/completion integration and provider APIs.
