Lead Backend Engineer - Assistance

About the opportunity

• You will be part of the Intelligent Operations Platforms (IOP) or the Assistance segments, which power the operations at N26.
• We are seeking a talented Lead Engineer to join our expanding teams and evolve our product.
• Our teams work with a high degree of autonomy and are passionate about collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• As a Lead Engineer at N26, you will work on complex, interesting problems daily.

In this role, you will:

• Directly impact your team’s tech scope.
• Architect & Build high-availability web applications.

What you need to be successful:

Engineering Mindset & Design

• Firm grasp of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Strong track record of using engineering best practices.
• Proven experience in critically using AI coding agents.

Technical Stack

• 5+ years of experience in Java or/and Kotlin and Springboot.
• Solid experience designing and implementing robust REST APIs.
• Professional experience with PostgreSQL and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Python or Generative AI frameworks is a plus.
