Senior Product Security Engineer

About the opportunity

• We are seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to drive the product security strategy and empower our engineering teams to design and build secure software.
• This role involves leading the integration of security practices into cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI and Large Language Models.
• You will be independently responsible for delivering robust security for every feature and service provided to customers.
• Part of the Security Engineering Segment, you will serve as a key mentor and contributor, promoting N26's security standards.
• You will lead efforts to safeguard sensitive data, align with data governance principles, and enhance the Product Security Program.

In this role, you will:

• Independently apply advanced knowledge of security architecture to guide software engineers.
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor to address complex security needs.
• Perform application security design reviews, threat modeling, and code reviews.
• Utilize expert penetration testing skills to assess and strengthen security.
• Independently develop advanced tooling to support security initiatives.
• Build automation frameworks to deliver secure features efficiently.
• Mentor and educate engineering teams on secure coding practices.
• Empower engineering teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Lead reactive incident response and conduct proactive research.

What you need to be successful (Background and Skills):

• Expertise in software engineering with general-purpose programming languages.
• Experience with threat modeling, security testing, and analyzing applications.
• Prior experience in building automation for the Secure Software Development Lifecycle.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams throughout the SDLC.
• A passion for information security and staying ahead of evolving threats.
• Deep technical knowledge in cloud security, networking, web application security, mobile security, and AI-driven products.
• Strong understanding of microservice architectures and secure coding best practices.
• Highly developed ability to identify flaws in software and implement practical solutions.
• Expertise in code analysis, fuzzing, and secure coding techniques.
• Ability to balance security risks with product innovation.
