What you'll be doing

Solve scaling bottlenecks in critical services in Logging, Metrics, Traces, and Alerting pipelines
Design and evolve APIs used by other engineers, collaborating to identify pain points and opportunities
Identify and address bottlenecks and single points of failure to improve observability platform reliability and user experience
Drive feature and product ideation, implementation, and adoption
Collaborate on planning and refinement with focus on engineering alignment, quality, and reducing complexity and dependencies
Respond to alerts, provide support, and troubleshoot production issues as part of duty responsibilities

Requirements

5+ years experience with highly distributed systems
Expertise in designing and implementing APIs and data pipelines for high-throughput, real-time data ingestion
Experience improving software reliability across availability, performance, latency, efficiency, capacity, SLOs, and incident management
Proficiency in Go and/or Java development and maintenance
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform)
Solid understanding of system design and tradeoffs
Proven track record leading and delivering projects and features end to end
Highly motivated for continuous learning and self-development

Hands-on experience operating core telemetry data stores at scale (e.g., Elasticsearch, Opensearch, VictoriaLogs, Clickhouse, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana Tempo, Grafana LGTM stack, OpenTelemetry, Alertmanager)
Experience with highly available, fault tolerant, replicated data storage systems and large scale data processing
Infrastructure and platform experience
Contributions to open-source observability projects
