Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Post - Purchase International)

Requirements

• You have 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• You have a track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• You are enthusiastic about occasionally working on front-end code (no prior front-end experience is required).
• You have experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, and extensible design.
• You write high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
• You are proficient at making significant changes in a large codebase and have developed tools and practices to do so safely.
• Your experience demonstrates taking ownership of your growth, seeking feedback proactively.
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills supporting effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

Nice to Haves

• You've had exposure to building web apps with declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue and understand their core principles.

• You'll be responsible for owning and delivering quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguous problems.
• You'll support peers and stakeholders in product development by collaborating and participating in ideation.
• You'll identify and solve project, process, technology, or business issues proactively.
• You'll support operations and availability of artifacts by creating metrics, monitoring, and supporting on-call efforts.
• You'll foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards.
• You'll occasionally contribute to full-stack development including working on front-end components.
• You'll develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance.
