What you'll be doing

Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through open-ended problems and supporting them throughout delivery.
Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams through ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions considering risks and trade-offs.
Proactively identify and advocate for solutions to project, process, technology, or business issues.
Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call efforts.
Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting and advocating for code review and design standards within and beyond the team.
Develop team talent by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example.

Requirements

4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages such as Python or Kotlin.
Proven experience with highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, simple, and extensible designs.
Proficiency in making significant changes in large codebases and developing tools and practices for safe modifications.
Demonstrated ownership of personal growth by proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
