• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience
• Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
• Experience corresponding to internal job level requirements
• Location flexibility, with expectation to be in office at least 25% of the time (hybrid policy)

What You'll Be Doing

• Working on scoped empirical research projects matched to your background with direct mentorship from Anthropic researchers
• Accessing Claude AI models and GPU compute resources
• Collaborating with broader AI safety and security research communities
• Researching AI safety and alignment including scalable oversight, adversarial robustness, model interpretability, safeguards, and AI welfare
• Engaging in AI security and frontier red-teaming by stress-testing models in fields like cybersecurity, robotics, or cryptography
• Improving machine learning systems, reinforcement learning, training infrastructure, model architectures, optimizers, and hardware backends
