Requirements

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems, including reliability and scaling
• Professional software development experience (non-internship)
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design
• Recent development experience within the last 3 years

Nice to Haves

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

What You'll Be Doing

• Building software that monitors one of the world’s largest and most complex networks used by tens of millions of customers
• Developing systems that detect, diagnose, and automatically resolve impairments across AWS's global network
• Designing near-real-time probing, telemetry processing, and triangulation infrastructure to measure network performance and availability
• Pinpointing problems quickly and driving automated remediation to maintain uninterrupted access for customers
• Working on challenging distributed systems and observability problems at large scale
• Collaborating closely with network, systems engineers, operations, remediation, and network design teams
• Choosing the best tools for solving problems and owning the software from launch through support and improvement
• Contributing in a flexible, fast-paced, and collaborative team environment
