Requirements

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
• Experience using Linux, demonstrating proficiency with associated tools or languages
• Interest, knowledge, and experience in low-level software engineering and/or systems programming
• Passionate about working in the open source community

Nice to Haves

• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or experience in Linux and networking protocols
• Experience with Linux, C, C++, or Rust in the areas of low-level software engineering and/or systems programming

What You'll Be Doing

• Create long-term customer value by understanding customer needs and engineering new features
• Own and automate operations related to Firecracker virtualization technology
• Contribute new ideas and methods to improve quality and development efficiency
• Innovate in the area of ephemeral compute platforms
• Maintain the Firecracker open source project
• Participate in on-call responsibilities approximately once every 8 weeks
• Work collaboratively in a diverse team environment with mentorship and training opportunities
