Requirements

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
• Experience using Linux, demonstrating proficiency with associated tools or languages
• Interest, knowledge, and experience in low-level software engineering and/or systems programming
• Passionate about working in the open source community

Nice to Haves

• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or experience in Linux and networking protocols
• Experience with low-level software engineering and/or systems programming using Linux, C, C++, or Rust

What You'll Be Doing

• Work on Firecracker, an open source virtualization technology for secure, multi-tenant container and function-based services
• Create long-term customer value by understanding needs and engineering new features
• Own and automate operations, contribute ideas and methods to improve quality and efficiency
• Innovate in the area of ephemeral compute platforms
• Maintain the Firecracker open source project
• Participate in on-call responsibilities approximately once every 8 weeks with focus on fault-tolerant systems
• Collaborate with a diverse team while promoting work-life balance
