Requirements

2+ years of engineering management experience with a strong technical background
At least 5 years of professional software development experience building full-stack web applications, preferably with JavaScript/TypeScript and Java
Solid understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures
Comfortable with both backend and frontend concepts (full-stack awareness)
Strong technical judgment for evaluating system design decisions and trade-offs
Experience in data-driven environments focusing on metrics such as velocity, predictability, and delivery performance
Skillful at building and growing teams, supporting senior and junior engineers
Clear, concise communication skills with a focus on transparency and proactive risk management
Effective stakeholder management and collaboration with cross-functional and distributed teams
Ability to operate in dynamic, evolving environments with dependencies across teams
Proficiency in English

Nice to Haves

Build, lead, and grow an engineering team (5–7 engineers) in Warsaw
Define team roadmap, execution strategy, and own delivery outcomes
Ensure strong delivery predictability including planning, estimation, and execution
Partner with engineers on system design and technical decisions (non-coding role)
Develop team members via 1:1s, coaching, performance management, and hiring
Establish a strong, collaborative, and accountable team culture
Drive high standards in execution, quality, and scalability
Organize team processes such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and technical discussions
Collaborate with product and partner teams to scope initiatives and align priorities
Manage cross-team dependencies and coordinate with stakeholders across regions
Proactively identify risks and maintain transparency in delivery
Represent Box internally and externally

Work from assigned office minimum 3 days per week, focusing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
