Requirements

Experience developing firmware and/or embedded software
Knowledge of servers, enterprise systems, and hardware interfaces
Good understanding of hardware security for servers
Familiarity with Redfish standards
Ability to build firmware from open source code, build demos and POCs, set up systems, run synthetic tests, and debug complex firmware problems
Capability to create Python/Bash scripts and edit firmware/driver source code
Great communication, collaboration skills, and attention to detail

Nice to Haves

Maintain and improve OpenBMC firmware and develop features based on industry standards like OCP and DMTF
Engage with vendors and guide them through Cloudflare’s requirements
Design solutions for observability and configurations for various server subsystems (e.g., DIMMs, NICs)
Collaborate internally to understand hardware security requirements and build related features and roadmaps
Contribute to hardware provisioning in the hardware lab, including BIOS, firmware, settings, and hardware tools
Develop and review requirements, code, tests, and design documents
Own and deliver future firmware or hardware security tasks and goals with high quality and on time
Create simple, adaptable plans without adding unnecessary complexity
Serve as domain expert in server hardware and collaborate across teams to define new server requirements and technologies
