What You'll Be Doing

• Contributing to core security initiatives including architecture, design, and production of critical features.
• Developing foundational security models for key features.
• Optimizing security performance at scale within distributed systems.
• Applying cryptographic solutions to real customer use cases.
• Ensuring robust data isolation across shared infrastructure supporting multiple customers.
• Keeping up-to-date with security advancements in authentication, identity management, cryptography, and data access management.
• Collaborating across teams to integrate security in new customer features from the beginning.
• Driving vulnerability management by partnering with InfoSec to identify, assess, and remediate risks.
• Using AI-driven tools to automate vulnerability triage and streamline security workflows.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management, with expertise in concurrency and thread-safe, lock-free coding.
• Experience building scalable and performant authorization systems under high concurrency and with large permission sets.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems security including mutual trust, zero-trust transport, partition tolerance, and cluster state propagation.
• In-depth knowledge of edge identity protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and SAML.
• Proven experience leveraging AI to accelerate development, debugging, and code optimization.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and manage transitions between projects based on business priorities.
• Capable of working autonomously and communicating effectively in a distributed team environment.

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with cipher suites, TLS handshakes, and PKI/certificate lifecycle management.
• Experience with cryptographic methods that account for memory usage and latency.
• Knowledge of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and readiness for migration to quantum-resistant algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP (Moderate/High), FIPS 140, and SOC 2.
• Experience working on internals of data stores or search engines.
