Software Engineer (Golang), Storage

Requirements

  • Experience building storage systems — object, block, or distributed filesystems — beyond just operating them
  • Strong fundamentals in distributed systems: durability, consistency, replication, erasure coding, failure domains
  • Experience shipping production systems in Go; systems engineers from C++ or Rust ready to code daily in Go are welcome
  • Comfortable with hardware realities such as HDD, SSD, and NVMe tiers and their economics
  • 5+ years of experience building backend or infrastructure systems
  • Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams to deliver software to real users
  • Low-ego, team-first mindset

What you'll be doing

  • Build the storage stack — block, file, and object — for training, sandbox, and general compute workloads
  • Design and write custom services in Go, including S3-compatible APIs, tiering, backup and recovery, and caching layers
  • Own the data plane covering allocation, duplication, tiering, backup and recovery
  • Plan capacity across datacenters and failure domains at petabyte scale
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to shape the storage roadmap and make technical and business tradeoffs

Perks and benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package supporting well-being, growth, and work-life balance
  • Benefits may include healthcare coverage, parental leave, retirement plans, relocation support, wellness programs, meal and transportation allowances, and other location-specific perks
