What you'll be doing

Develop and maintain observability tools and platforms with a focus on scalable, high-quality solutions.
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate observability practices into the development lifecycle.
Lead the creation and adoption of standardised observability frameworks for consistency and efficiency.
Design, implement, and refine data pipelines to collect, aggregate, and normalise telemetry data.
Advocate best practices in code instrumentation for quality data collection and monitoring.
Contribute to developing a comprehensive service inventory to guide operational decisions.
Promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team to foster innovation in observability.

Requirements

Solid background in software engineering with a passion for observability and monitoring distributed systems.
Experience with at least one major cloud provider.
Proficiency with tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Sentry, and practices with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Terraform.
Familiarity with Linux systems and shell usage.
Experience developing or adopting libraries for integration with observability tools.
Good coding skills in languages like PHP, Java, Python, or Go.
Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach to challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, effective in a hybrid work environment.

Prior experience with Data Analytics and Data Pipelines for deriving insights from observability data.
