What you'll be doing

Ship features end to end: take ownership from design handoff to production, building accessible, performant components and confidently shipping them.
Author API contracts and maintain a technical roadmap with clear intent, trade-offs, and success criteria.
Drive consistency across web properties, set departmental standards, and lead migration efforts utilizing new framework capabilities.
Own quality, security, performance, and reliability standards including client-side security measures and incident readiness.
Manage the build and deployment pipeline, improving processes and making commercially-aware decisions on hosting and tools.
Develop other engineers by mentoring IC3 engineers, raising hiring standards, and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
Lead AI-assisted engineering efforts using Kiro and other AI tools to enhance workflow and product integration standards.

Requirements

5+ years of frontend experience building and operating production web applications at scale with leadership on complex projects.
Strong ability to bridge engineering and product, translating business priorities into technical solutions and vice versa.
Recognized technical authority in frontend engineering influencing decisions beyond immediate teams.
Deep expertise in modern CSS/SCSS, HTML, ECMAScript proposals, and sound framework trade-off understanding.
Comprehensive experience with unit/E2E testing and building CI workflows.
Proficient with TypeScript, modern React (hooks, composition), Next.js, SSR, routing, and data fetching.
Experienced in observability, Core Web Vitals, accessibility auditing, and frontend performance tuning.
Broad team experience with pragmatic judgment on build-refactor-replace decisions informed by production challenges.
Genuine interest in leading AI-assisted development workflows.

Experience owning and maintaining a design system across multiple teams.
Ability to create sensible UI designs independently for moderately complex work.
Experience evaluating vendors and third-party tools with clear technical and commercial criteria for build-vs-buy decisions.
Experience maintaining and evolving complex legacy systems at scale.
Backend fluency to understand and shape API contracts without being full-stack.
