Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related program, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 4 years of programming experience in C++ and Rust with strong background in memory safety, multi-threaded system architecture, or raw data stream manipulation.
• Proven ability to quickly onboard, deliver, and improve complex software projects.
• Demonstrated track record of independently scoping and delivering complex features within tight release deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear validation and communication of progress and decisions.

Nice to Haves

• Previous contributions to the Mozilla mission and codebase.
• Experience working within browser environments such as Gecko, Chromium, WebKit, or related web engine runtimes.
• Interest or experience in designing or using ML pipelines to automate internal developer workflows.
• Deep understanding of web architecture, web privacy/security models, and client-side data structures.
• Knowledge of basic statistical modeling.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.

What You'll Be Doing

• Implement privacy-enhancing, anti-tracking, and threat intelligence protections within the Firefox browser to reduce user tracking and phishing risks.
• Develop architectural improvements to Gecko, the underlying Firefox browser engine.
• Write performant, low-latency, maintainable code in C++, JavaScript, and Rust.
• Collaborate with a geographically distributed, primarily Europe and US-East based, asynchronous team.
