What you'll be doing

Design, build, and tune real-time, high-throughput services ingesting and routing telemetry events globally.
Ensure durable ingestion with delivery guarantees, backpressure, persistent buffering, and graceful degradation.
Drive architecture for data collection platform including schema management and shared libraries.
Lead design reviews, write documentation, and mentor engineers.
Own production services, participate in on-call rotation and incident management.

Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with 7+ years building backend production services.
Deep expertise in modern Java (17+) and Spring Boot, including concurrency, Java Memory Model, and performance profiling.
Strong distributed systems fundamentals: microservices, event-driven architecture, delivery semantics, failure handling.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, message brokers (preferably Apache Kafka) on AWS or major cloud platforms.
Hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and production observability.
Proficiency in agentic engineering (AI coding agents).
Fluent English.

Production experience with reactive, non-blocking Java frameworks such as Project Reactor, Spring WebFlux, Netty.
Background in telemetry, analytics, or high-volume data ingestion.
Experience with schema management for event data including registries, validation, and compatible schema evolution.
Knowledge of security and privacy fundamentals: OAuth 2.0, JWT, network and cloud security, GDPR compliance.
