What You'll Be Doing:

Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for the Cash Forecasting platform, with occasional frontend work.
Work within a large, sophisticated, multi-tenant SaaS codebase built to scale for enterprise customers.
Own data layer responsibilities including schema design, query performance, and data integrity focusing on PostgreSQL and SQL.
Write and maintain comprehensive test coverage using RSpec, prioritizing testing in delivery.
Package and deploy services using Docker and operate within AWS cloud infrastructure.
Create scripts and tooling to automate tasks, support data migrations, and enhance team productivity.
Implement strong observability practices such as logging, metrics, and tracing to proactively resolve issues.
Benchmark and profile code to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to convert business needs into technical solutions.
Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions to support team growth.
Follow the you-build-it-you-run-it (YBIYRI) philosophy including participation in on-call pager rotation.

Requirements:

4-8 years of professional software development experience, ideally full-stack with a backend focus.
Strong SQL fundamentals, with hands-on PostgreSQL experience preferred.
Comfortable working safely within large, complex existing codebases.
Scripting experience for automation and tooling, language-agnostic.
Experience with Docker or other containerization tools.
Proven Git proficiency with collaborative branching workflows.
Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Java.
Experience using AI tools throughout the development lifecycle to accelerate problem-solving and delivery.
Experience testing with RSpec.

Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails to ramp up faster on the primary stack.
Frontend experience, preferably with React.
Experience with or solid understanding of AWS cloud services.
Experience building or maintaining multi-tenant, enterprise SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with observability tooling and practices, including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
Experience benchmarking and profiling code for performance optimizations.
Experience in the financial industry such as treasury, payments, FX, or ERP systems.
