Engineering Manager II - Container Platform

Requirements

• 10+ years of significant experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, and robust products and platforms. Including 5+ years in managing engineering teams of 10+ people
• Ability to lead teams in Amsterdam and collaborate with stakeholder and sister teams in the US
• Ability to attract talent in Amsterdam by setting the standard for excellence
• Good judgment about shipping products responsibly and sustainably
• Technical strength and deep knowledge of the entire stack for mentorship
• Ability to mentor, teach, and review to set the team up for success
• Dedication towards maintaining consistency in user experience
• Ability to take ownership of problems outside of your team's scope

Nice to Haves

• Proficiency in Operating Systems, Linux, Virtual Machines, Container (Docker/containerd), Cluster Management (Kubernetes, Mesos) technologies

• Leading a team within the Container Platform Infrastructure group
• Significantly impacting the evolution of backend teams and architecture at Uber
• Building the next generation of Uber’s container orchestration platform
• Collaborating with stakeholders and sister teams in the US
• Mentoring, teaching, and reviewing team members
• Ensuring a consistent and invisible user experience for Uber riders
